Dialpad Options 5, 6, and 7 are still open, contributions welcome

On the Dial-A-Laugh keypad, options 5, 6, and 7 are still unoccupied.

Let's start at the beginning.

Option 1 is already randomly selected from a pool of laughs, by the admin (me).

Option 2 is a crowd of people laughing, but if you have a good crowd laugh I am happy to update it with your crowd laughter.

Option 3 is a "dad joke" or "bad joke" which are pretty much the same thing.  I can replace the old one with yours: just record it and email to haha(at) dialalaugh(dot)com.

Option 4 is the herd of goats.  I might leave it just because the goats are so great.

Options 5, 6, and 7 need something to fill those spots.   If you have a group giggle, that could take one of those spots.  Additional proposals welcome.  I thought maybe ducks?   Or a kookaboora (Australian bird).

Option 8, is to replay the menu.

Option 9 is of course your opportunity to leave a 10 second laugh on the voicemail, which is added to the World Laughter Library and one day will be selected to be the Random Laugh of the Day!  RLotD.

One day, also, we might start to use these hashtags:  #RLotD #DialALaugh 

Ways to Contribute Your Laughter to the WLL

 Therse are the ways to add your laughter to the World Laughter Library:

1. Use option 9 on the webpage and record your 10-second laugh.  After review it can be added to the Random Laugh of the Day, or option 1.
2. Record your laugh separately and email it to haha(at)dialalaugh.com .  This can be longer than 10 seconds of course.
3. When a real telephone number is made available, it will also be able to accept a voicemail message, and that recording will be transferred to the Random Laugh of the Day on the website in due time.

Dial A Laugh web app launched!

April first, 2026.  Yes it's April Fool's Day, rabbit rabbit.  

My new friend Claude (not the original Claude Shannon, but his namesake) helped me make an online app that looks like the dialpad of a phone, and models the behavior of a telephone system that anyone can call and get their laughter fix for the day.

If you find 10 seconds is not long enough for the laugh you wish to submit to the World Laughter Library (via option 9) record it and email it to me at haha@dialalaugh.com 

The web app is available at https://dialalaugh.com/ and there is a User Guide if you need it.  

If you happen to use Safari, you can select the "add to HomePage" to make a shortcut that you can put on your phone screen so it behaves like any other app.  Just tap it to access DialALaugh.
